PennEngineering is pleased to announce the addition of Type SH™ and HFLH™ Self-Clinching Nuts and Studs designed specifically to be installed into thin, harder, high strength steel materials. These self-clinching fasteners for harder sheets provide alternative solutions to other fastening methods currently being used, including:
Type SH nuts can be installed into sheets as hard as HRC 30 / HB 277 or less and at 975MPa maximum ultimate tensile. Type HFLH studs can be installed into sheets as hard as HRB 96 / HB 216 or less and at 700MPa maximum ultimate tensile. Both Type SH and HFLH fasteners install into minimum sheet thicknesses of .056”/1.4mm and .040”/1mm respectively.
