Keystone has recently released a new series of ultra-low profile Coin Cell Retainers for 20mm coin cell batteries, suited for high-density PCB packaging. These new coin cell battery retainers accept 2016, 2020, 2025 and 2032 sized batteries from all major manufacturers.
They are compatible with all soldering and reflow operations and made of phosphor bronze. The surface mount (SMT) versions of these coin cell holders have solder tails located outside of the retainer body for easy visual inspection of all solder joints. The surface mount (SMT) versions are also supplied with a tin-nickel plate for high-temperature soldering applications as well as with matte tin plate for lower soldering applications. Compatibility with most vacuum and mechanical pick and place assembly systems is an added feature.
In applications where a 2032 battery installation or removal is restricted by other components and where no tools are preferred for battery removal, then Keystone's new “Auto-In//EZ-Out” SMT 2032 Coin Cell Holder is the best solution.
